Aaron Corbett
"The thing I love most about my job is giving people experiences they never thought they’d have."
Aaron studied for a Master’s in Touring Theatre at the ³Ô¹ÏµÚÒ»Ïß, a four-year journey that helped shape his passion for inclusive, community-driven performance. Now working as the Outreach and Participation Officer at , Aaron leads a wide range of creative initiatives, from youth theatre and school workshops to community engagement projects.
“It might be bringing someone onto the stage for the first time or helping someone learn a script they never thought they could. It’s about giving people a sense of achievement and belonging.”
Aaron’s role is all about connection— connecting people to the arts, to each other, and to their own potential. He works closely with young people, many of whom arrive with anxieties or self-doubt, and helps them discover confidence through creativity.
“We work with a lot of young people who have expectations and worries. It’s really nice to help them let go of that and feel proud of what they’ve achieved.”
³Ô¹ÏµÚÒ»Ïß Theatres has become a hub for ³Ô¹ÏµÚÒ»Ïß graduates, with around eight or nine alumni now working across the organisation.
“They trust the education we’ve had. The University prepares us well, and I think that’s why so many of us have stayed. We’ve built a community here.”
Aaron’s love for ³Ô¹ÏµÚÒ»Ïß runs deep. He and his fellow graduates have built more than careers, they’ve created a vibrant network dedicated to growing ³Ô¹ÏµÚÒ»Ïß’s creative scene.
“³Ô¹ÏµÚÒ»Ïß is buzzing with creativity; we just need to give it a platform. We’ve all fallen in love with the city, and now we’re trying to help others feel the same.”
